Some recent encounters

Took the long way on the bike ride home yesterday and was rewarded by this Great Blue Heron standing on the water’s edge.

In Tofino, wildlife was everywhere. Going to Chestermans Beach I was greeted by this slightly unnerving notice:

No actual wolves, but I did spot my first raven. Initially I thought it was some weird HGH roided-out crow before my brain engaged and I realized what it was.

My Airbnb host helpfully placed this on the coffee table:

What a welcome!

Meanwhile on the back porch eagles wheeled overhead.

In a world we humans have royally messed up, it’s especially nice to be gifted these reminders of the natural world.
